After joining (on 19 March, 2025) as Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Visva-Bharati Dr. Probir Kumar Ghosh has undertaken several new initiatives<\/b> for the betterment of the Visva-Bharati based on Tagores’ Legacy towards achieving good grades by NAAC, Rank by NIRF and other Agencies, holding the Heritage Sentiment, etc. Some of the major initiatives<\/b> are as<\/span><\/div>\r\n\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n

Visited all the Bhavana <\/span><\/b>and Hospital, Library, and Hostel<\/b> to meet with the Students, Scholars, Principals, HODs, Faculty Members, Staff, Officers, and Professionals to understand the basic problems of the university and proceed on priority<\/span><\/div>\r\n <\/td>\r\n

Meet with all the administrative committees<\/span><\/b> and take necessary action during the meeting to speed up the administrative activities of the university by simplifying the procedures, wherever possible<\/span><\/div>\r\n

Take<\/span><\/b> urgent action to fill up the vacancies<\/b> (both teaching and non-teaching) through recruitment and maintaining required procedures. On priority, he has already arranged a selection committee meeting for the long pending CAS promotion<\/b> of the faculty members, and advertisements for the appointment of Registrar, Finance Officer, IAO, and Directors<\/b> have already been published<\/span><\/div>\r\n <\/td>\r\n

To address the administrative complexities, he prefers to proceed through monthly and on-need-based review meetings of the concerned committee, section<\/b>, etc<\/span><\/div>\r\n <\/td>\r\n

Take the initiative to re-image the university website<\/b> to make it interactive and attractive too<\/span><\/div>\r\n <\/td>\r\n

Take appropriate actions to regularize the Semester Examination<\/b> and timely publication of the result<\/span><\/div>\r\n <\/td>\r\n

Pay attention to monitoring the university admission process, academic activities, and examination section<\/b> through one committee<\/span><\/div>\r\n <\/td>\r\n

Take necessary action to publish the Visva-Bharati quarterly e-Newsletter<\/b> to wish the performance\/activities of the university before the public domain in an organized manner<\/span><\/div>\r\n <\/td>\r\n

Constitute one committee to look after the campus cleaning and civil\/electrical works<\/b>, to take required action regularly to foster monitoring of the entire campus.<\/span><\/div>\r\n <\/td>\r\n

He is keen, to build up a congenial environment<\/b> for the university stakeholders intending to achieve the best performance from all concerned.<\/span><\/div>\r\n <\/td>\r\n

Take necessary initiatives to have a Green Campus<\/b> (Tree Transplantation, Installation of Solar Energy to save electricity consumption, Plastic Free campus, Waste management system both bio and electronic)<\/span><\/div>\r\n <\/td>\r\n

Taking action to reorganize the campus security by deploying a team including external experts for ‘Security Audit’ to ensure proper “campus security & safety”<\/b><\/span><\/div>\r\n <\/td>\r\n
