Departmental Library

The Department library has more than 1100 volumes of books with different branches of biological sciences like Taxonomy & Physiology of invertebrates and vertebrates, Fisheries, Developmental biology, Entomology, Ecology, Genetics, Endocrinology, Toxicology, Biochemistry, Cell biology, Molecular biology etc. The library also has facility to access E-books, Journals and Scientific magazines.

Departmental museum

There are variety of specimen in the Museum Room of the Department of Zoology. It offers valuable insight into the diversity of animal life. The specimens are arranged on the basis of phylum classification. The phylum Arthropoda has 14 specimens, Annelida has 15 specimens, Echinodermata has 5 specimens, Mollusca has 15 specimens etc. The Chordate section displays different classes such as Amphibia which has 11 specimens, Reptilia has 7 specimens, Mammalia has 8 specimens. The Pisces( Fishes) class further displays different order such as Ophiocephaliformes, Anguilliformes, Beloniformes, Siluriformes, Mugiliformes, Pleuronectiformes etc. Along with whole body specimens, the museum also exhibits bones such as skulls, vertebral columns etc.
