The Department of Computer and System Sciences was formed under the aegis of Siksha-Bhavana in the year 1998 to start the Master of Computer Application course upon upgradation of the Diploma in Computer Application (DCA) which was approved by the Department of Electronics, Govt of India run by the Computer Centre since 1989. The department has been offering programmes of B.Sc(Hons) in Computer Science since 2004, MSc in Computer Science since 2005 and PhD programme since 2004. Currently the department offers 4-year (8-semester) undergraduate programme with Major, Minor and Multidisciplinary courses in Computer science under the National Education Policy 2020; 4-semester programme of M.Sc in Computer Science under Choice-Based Credit System and PhD programmes as per UGC norms.
