Students undergo rigorous practical training in vocal and instrumental forms such as Khayal, Dhrupad, Esraj, Sitar, Tabla, and Pakhawaj, honing their technical mastery and performance skills. Alongside this, they gain a deep understanding of music theory, the principles embedded in ancient texts, historical evolution, and aesthetic philosophies that shape the classical canon. The program emphasizes the stylistic nuances of various Gharanas, encouraging students to develop interpretative depth and a personalized artistic voice. By integrating Carnatic music, Western classical forms, and Rabindra Sangeet into its curriculum, the department promotes interdisciplinary learning and a globally attuned musical sensibility. Students are also prepared for diverse professional pathways, including public performances, cultural festivals, collaborative projects, and careers as doctoral researchers and academicians, ensuring their readiness to contribute meaningfully to the global music community.
